From: "Bernard Jari" Subject: Changing the TX and RX Frequency of the Radio Shack BTX-127 HT Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 10:10:05 -0600 1) Remove the battery pack cover 2) Locate the DIP Switches above the battery pack 3) Locate DIP switches 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Right-hand side) 4) Set the 4 DIP switches according to the following chart for the following frequencies: (Note: DIP switch number 3 will only be changed for 151.940 MHz and won't be used for the other frequencies and DIP switches 1 and 2, along with the rest, will be used for programming the PL frequency of your choice, following the procedure in your owner's manual, where once the PL frequency (1 PL frequency at any given time) has been programmed, will be turned on and off by using DIP switch number 1 only, Up or On for PL tone and Down or Off for no PL) DIP Switch Settings SW3 SW4 SW5 SW6 Freq ---------------------------------------------------------------- (Off) Off Off Off 151.625 MHz (Red Dot) (Off) Off On Off 154.570 MHz (Blue Dot) (Off) Off Off On 151.955 MHz (Purple Dot) (Off) On Off Off 151.700 MHz (Off) On On Off 151.820 MHz (Off) On Off On 151.760 MHz (Off) Off On On 154.600 MHz (Green Dot) (Off) On On On 151.880 MHz On Off Off Off 151.940 MHz 5) Replace the battery pack cover 6) You are finished Note: Your HT will be on the frequency that you need it to be on if different than the factory setting. Note: "On" is up or towards the antenna end of the HT and "Off" is down or towards the base or battery end of the HT. Note: If you see a round, dot-shaped, colored sticker on the outside of the box, the color will clue you in as to what frequency the HT has been factory-set to, unless they made a mistake at the factory...Ex: A round Green "sticker" on the box means the HT has been pre-programmed to the Green-Dot Frequency of 154.600 MHz.
